Every session is thoughtfully planned, beginning with a pre-shoot consultation to discuss wardrobe choices, ideal locations, and optional professional hair and makeup services to ensure you look your best. After the shoot, you’ll receive a link to a private gallery showcasing the best photos, allowing you to select your favorites. I will then meticulously edit your chosen images and deliver them electronically, ensuring you have professional, contemporary headshots for LinkedIn, your company website, and beyond.

Detailed Discussion: We’ll have a thorough conversation, either via Zoom or phone, to discuss wardrobe, location, and any hair/makeup preferences.

Custom Session Plan: Depending on your session duration and location, we may create a personalized plan outlining all the details, from locations to wardrobe choices, ensuring we’re aligned every step of the way.

Choosing the Right Setting: Whether it’s at your workplace, in my studio, or a location that reflects your brand, we’ll find the perfect setting.

Setting the Scene: Expect a relaxed yet professional atmosphere where we’ll use the best lighting and angles to complement your style.

Capturing You: My goal is to make you feel comfortable and confident in front of the camera, capturing a variety of expressions and poses.

Preview Gallery: I’ll send you a link to a private gallery with the best shots from our session.

Your Favorites: Take your time to select the images you love most for final editing and retouching. Feel free to share the gallery link with friends and cohorts, to get feedback prior to finalizing your selections. ‘

Professional Retouching: Your chosen images will be hand retouched to smooth skin, whiten teeth, and reduce flyaway hairs and glasses glare.
Additional high-end retouching is available for an additional fee.

Quick and Easy Delivery: You’ll receive your polished headshots electronically, with a prompt turnaround.

Unlimited Usage Rights: Enjoy the flexibility of using your web and print format headshots across all platforms with no restrictions. Large-format file sizes are available for an additional fee.

Welcome to our FAQ section, where we aim to answer your questions about headshot photography with Kelly Mooney Photography.

We recommend you bring at least two different looks to your session. Our “What to Wear and How to Prepare” Guide, which we’ll send after your session is booked offers more details. We’ll also discuss wardrobe recommendations in our Zoom consultation.

Absolutely! If your friend also wants headshots, ask us about our group discounts.

Absolutely! Kelly Mooney Photography Studio has a small dressing room with a hair/makeup table, as well a clothing rack.

You’re welcome to use your own stylist! We do recommend that you work with someone who specializes in headshot photography and who will bring/use their own equipment. If you need access to the studio prior to your shoot to prepare, please let us know and we’ll do our best to accommodate you both.

We frequently shoot at client’s locations, including offices and homes, and offer outdoor shoots near our studio or near. We bring all necessary equipment, including lighting and backdrops, to work in nearly any setting.

You’ll receive a proofing gallery within two days of your shoot. Final retouched images are typically delivered within 48 hours of your selection.

We shoot in digital RAW format, delivering high-resolution JPEGs via a private online link. Black and white conversion is available at no extra charge.

Standard retouching includes smoothing skin, whitening teeth, reducing hair flyaways, and glasses glare. High-end retouching is available for an additional fee.

We offer Photoshop alterations for an additional $45 per image. We’re always happy to work with you to make you feel great, but we will always encourage the edits to still look authentically you, on your best day.

After booking, you’ll receive links for the deposit (to secure your session) and the remaining balance, due on the session date.

If you need to cancel and reschedule more than a week before your shoot, don’t worry – your full deposit will be applied to the new date.

Last-Minute Cancellations: Life happens! If you cancel within 24 hours of your shoot or choose not to reschedule, the deposit will be retained. This helps us manage our schedule and serve all our clients effectively.

Weather-Related Adjustments: If we have to cancel an outdoor shoot due to bad weather, rest assured your deposit will be fully applied to a rescheduled session.

Your experience is our top priority. In rare cases of illness, weather challenges, equipment issues, or other unforeseen events, we may need to reschedule. We promise to work closely with you to find a suitable alternative date.

Creating an atmosphere that you are comfortable in happens from the very beginning. Don’t worry if you don’t know how to pose, don’t know what to do with your hands, or “have never had a good picture taken” (which we hear ALL the time). We’re here to help you and will be showing you your photos as we proceed, so we can make adjustments and get feedback as we go. Our ultimate goal is to capture headshots that you will be proud to show off!

If you book makeup and/or hair services, your stylist will communicate directly with you about meeting times and how to arrive.. Typically, clients arrive 90 minutes before the shoot.

Sessions usually book a few weeks in advance. Immediate needs can be accommodated based on availability.
